Minister of State
in-charge of Tertiary Education, Prof. Kwesi
Yankah has sent his
best wishes to all trainee teachers across the 46 public
Colleges of
Education sitting for the end of second semester examinations.
Continuing students
in level 100 and 200 are scheduled to take part in the end of
second semester
examinations from today, 15th July 2019 and end on Friday,
26th July 2019.
In an interaction
with the News Desk of
Colleges of
Education Weekly Journal upon his arrival from China where he led a
ten-member
high-powered delegation from Ghana to discuss issues on
development and
quality education, Prof. Kwesi Yankah stated that “on behalf of
myself and officials
at the Ministry of Education, I extend good wishes to the
over 30,000 trainee
teachers across the 46 public Colleges of Education in the Country.
We wish them the
very best of luck as they sit for their end of second semester
examinations. The
academic year might have been one that came with its own
challenges and
successes but we are glad it is finally coming to an end”.
The Minister of
State in-charge of Tertiary Education also added that “I wish to
use this
opportunity to thank
all the stakeholders for great work done throughout the academic
year especially with
regards to the new educational reforms in our Colleges.
Government will
continue to support the Colleges to become centers of excellence in
training and
producing teachers”.
In a related
development, level 300 trainee
teachers from the
various Colleges who are currently undertaking their teaching
practice
are expected to end
their teaching practice segment of the 3-year Diploma in Basic
Education programme
on Friday, 19th July 2019. They are expected to report to their
various campuses to
write their final papers from 27th July to 3rd August, 2019.
Checks by the News
Desk indicate that marking of the second semester examination
scripts is scheduled
for 29th July to 10th August, 2019. The results of the
second
examinations are
likely to be published by August ending after professional board
meeting.
The Editorial Board
of the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal wishes all trainee
teachers success in
their examinations.
