CCTT Or TTAG: Which Of The Association Should Teacher Trainees Belong To - Matters Arising

CCTT or TTAG?

There is a newly formed association calling itself Coalition of Concerned (CCTT) Teacher Trainees with over 7000 membership spanning across the 46 Colleges of Educatio advocating for the welfare and concerns of all teacher trainees.

The teacher trainees are alleging the height of neglect and “uncalled for” practice by PRINCOF,the principals of the various teacher training colleges and UCC towards them. The teacher trainees are also threatening to sue PRINCOF should PRINCOF continue to pay deaf ear to their plight.

The association has expressed concerns on the following areas:

1. Extension of date of semester examination

2. Virtual learning should call for virtual examination

3. Reduction of Examination fee of GHC400

4. Release of feeding component of their allowances.
The teacher trainees are calling for the dissolution of TTAG as it has lost it’s efficacy in fighting for the common good and interest of the teacher trainees.

Since TTAG has become dormant in addressing the plight of teacher trainees, the association has therefore vowed to as matter of urgency up their effort in whichever way acceptable to get their plight addressed.

Most teacher trainees have expressed their misgivings about TTAG as to whether it should still remain as an association because they cannot feel the actual work they are doing in addressing teacher trainees problems in the College of Education.
